In a spectacular time trial Sunday that surprised everyone but himself, Christian Vande Velde flew past leader Levi Leipheimer and won the yellow jersey by 21 seconds to win the second USA Pro Cycling Challenge in Colorado. Vande Velde brought home the win for Boulder-based Team Garmin-Sharp and Boulder native Taylor Phinney destroyed the field to win the Stage 7 time trial.
